Weekend round-up: Mexican wrestling and charm school

This weekend was rather contrasting: first I went to see Mexican lucha libre wrestling, which was quite simply amazing. Two of the most famous luchadors  – The Blue Deamon and Cassandro were there fighting in a tag match. I loved seeing Cassandro, who is an ‘exotico’ wrestler – his persona is in drag.

The next day  headed off to the more serene surroundings of West Lexham in Norfolk, where I was lucky enough to have been invited to Charm School. Run by etiquette magazine Mien, Charm School was a rare chance to give up my digital devices and learn about more analogue pursuits such as baking, letter writing, gentle exercises and gardening.

I loved the amazing farm location, the excellent company and brilliant home-made food. My highlight – learning to make bread with baker Simon Blackwell. More Charm School weekends are coming up later in the year, I can’t recommend it enough, a must for any city-dweller!
